Nature is rather intriguing. Sometimes an individual does not know how disconnected they are from natural settings until they are in a forest of woods with no phone, no internet, and surrounded by loved ones. This day was rather sunny. I remember leaving work and being anxious due to the fact that I did not know what to expect once arriving in nature. Would it be woods? Would bears appear? Could I finish the hike? This would be a day that I would be able to spend time with my family (nephews) while learning things about myself. When I first started the hike I was skeptical, but tired from working all night. However, I hiked despite the feeling of uncertainty. I made laughs, memories, and I pushed my nephews who looked up to me; to continue to endure the 10 mile nature walk that was set ahead. There were many hills, mountains, and conflicts that came about. For instance, my nephew ran across a poisonous snake. Rather than being afraid of the snake as I would normally, I found meaning and jotted down what I thought the colors of the snake signified. Together, we cherished the moment, were thankful for life, and found creativity with God given nature. There were also unique reindeers that we ran across. I had seen boars and many other wild animals. Aside from site seeing, the hike back was a challenge. We had 2 hours until we returned back to the car. I had remembered that I had not eaten or slept in 24 hours. I felt sort of faint, but I would not give up. The hike showed me more than nature. It emphasized one of lifes’ best characteristics in relation to myself; it highlighted my strength, my ability to fight when I felt like giving up, and how strong of a person I actually was. I did not think that I believed in myself as much until this day. definitely was a memorable moment for me.
