Everything on this planet has a life cycle and a purpose. The beautyberry doesn’t begin as a beautiful plant. It first sprouts as a flowerless dull green stem with leaves. However, as it matures it begins to grow flowers with color. When it fully matures, it has very colorful berries. These berries serve a purpose as they are food for birds and other animals. Without these berries, the animals that eat them would have to find other food sources. Food webs are very delicate and taking out even a single layer could negatively effect all of the others in that food chain. It is so crucial that we remember that everything in nature serves a purpose.
